There isn't any wrong answer to this question. but yes I put them on that way, just because thats the way i've always done it, have never seen any benifits to doing it the other way.

The only thing I can think of as far as the sight marks are concerned is that the front of the vanes may be taped too far back. This will open out the front of the vane and give it more of a funnel shape and increase the drag.

Clint Freeman use to put his on backwards and bend them over just to see how many people would follow suit.

I doubt it cos thats why they have left and right handed versions but personally Id like to see some one try it. I cant personally see what the problem would be. However cue a very technical explination from someone who is a lot more knowledgeable in this subjuect than me.

Looks like Quicks have stooped stocking Rite flights just as a few people have recommended them!!!

On X10's, whats the concensus, Straight or spinnies?! (Spin Wings or Flex D05's)??

I bought my arrows with Elite spin wings on and haven't been too impressed, they're well folded over though acounting for a decent reduction in drag i'd imagine..

Wink ...spinwings...?

Supplementary question on spinnies please? I read that the colours have different amounts of drag. So how much more drag do, say, red ones have than blue ones. (I guess are they like, 20% more or what?) They all look the same to me!

BTW I've got left-handed ones on a set at the minute (long story.....!) and I'm right handed .Odd as they land in the right place but get there in a really strange way - definitely a corkscrew. Must put the right ones on and see if its better!

I know that white spinnies have the lowest drag, followed by black, cant remember the rest of the colours since I have only ever used thes two.
Be very careful about using very small fletchings if you are shooting recurve, at the longer distances, the arrow velocity has slowed to such an extent that they are no longer able to control the arrows flight just when it is needed most. Most top coaches say that 1 3/4 is about as small as you should use for recurve, dosent matter with compound since the velocity is so much greater.

black and white are the same drag coefficient. i have tried all of the colours on the sameset up and they are all about the same, until you get out to around 50m plus. Then the colours start to slowly spread in apart having the white and black at the top then yellow blue and red i think im not sure been a while since i did it. but i couldnt see that much of a difference at the short ranges but further out (70m) there was a good foot or so between the white and the largest co efficient which i think is red but dont quote me on that.

i just think pick what ever colour you like and stick with that one colour because now i have a bag of 20 of each colour and i cant relly use half of them.

the left and right hand marked on the fletches is to supposedly spin the arrow towards the riser and also if you think about the shape of the fletching then there is less chance of it hitting the arrow rest, if you have the right handed for a rh archer and so on.
