Spinwings - whats does this mean??

Any ideas what this means?

Pack of 50 with tape, Instructions included, extra small for faster arrows. Beware that these do not let the arrow start to spiral as they get near to 90 meters(or 70 m) , particularly in a tail wind. If they do then go up to 1 3/4 size.

Perhaps I am reading it strangely or not reading it properly in any case but I cant work out what that is supposed to mean?

Dont start to spiral as they get near 90m.
Does that mean they stop spinning at longer distances or that they dont spin full stop?

Or something else entirely??

-- ONE OTHER QUESTION ON THEM --
What does bend them back as you fix them it makes a far better fixing and is lower profile.
--I assume you must have done this bit before to understand it! --

If an arrow spins too fast it will start to spiral in flight (gyro effect). Some people have reported this occuring with Elite spinwings. The spin rate of an arrow overall increases during the flight. If the spin rate goes too high (at the longer distances if at all) the arrow will start corkscrewing.

By going up in fletching size you are increasing the drag torque on the arrow. This allows for a higher spin rate without the gyro effect becoming significant.

Ok your post makes perfect sense.

Now read what is written in mine again - as that isnt written quite so clearly!! -so does that mean they are prone to corkscrewing or they will not corkscrew

I can't do better than Joe, but I can answer your second question.

It means that you stick the spinwings on the wrong way up. So that they wrap themselves around the shaft. Then you bend them back on themselves - so that they stand up.
This makes them easier to apply, and gives them a lower profile.

Kae.

I have 1 3/4" Kurly Vanes at the moment but they have too much drag - sight marks reverted back to pre carbon arrows markings at 100yrds!

I need something that will get me there again - which I why I was looking at smaller spinwings (1 9/16")

Size of spinwings doesn't have very much effect on sightmark except a bit at 100 yards (more a case of reduced lift than increased drag). Spin wings are best fit straight with no offset. Any offset will seriously damage your sightmarks .

All spinning arrows will corkscrew to some extent. At the low spin rates you normally have with spinwings <5000rpm the effect is insignificant compared with the benefits.

No just put them on straight as Joe say. Offset is built into the curl. I used 1 3/4 on 27" ACE 850's I tried the 1 9/16th and they flew dreadfully

My prefered fletch is Quicks Rite Flights. I'm told you should put these on at an angle but I never did.
