Home Made Recurve Bow Vice

Does anyone have any pictures of a bow vice for a recurve. I'm going to try and make one to allow me to hold the bow whilst I check alignment, centre shot etc. I've seen the ones used in bow shops but cann't quite bring the arrangement to mind.

Get a piece of 3" x 2" softwood. Drill a hole the dia of your longrod. Hold the wood vertically in a vice. Place longrod through hole. use blutac to improve hold/grip.

Let me be the first to say that I haven't the faintest idea of how to use that!

I question how much use a static bow vice really is to be honest. I use an arrow to prop the bow up, by placing the nock under the sight bar.
Whenever I make an adjustment, I find it a good idea to shoot an arrow, to allow the bow to "settle" before I re-evaluate what needs to be done next.

a bow stand with a stab holder also works

Aardvark sell this bow vice for £50 but it is the rotatable type so you can cant the bow if you need to
