Question 9/32 Taper tool for my Arrows

Hi All,

I have purchased some 5/16 shafts tapered to 9/32 and also have some Barrelled ones also.

I was wondering what people use to taper the shafts? I cannot locate a commercially available tool from anywhere so was wondering what people use out there.

I also am struggling with different points the only ones I have located is at Quicks 100g longnose field points. i was hoping to make up some target as well as field and wanted to try a 70/80g weight

any info would be great

Joe

If I remember correctly, there is a thread somewhere and several archers made their own taper jig to use with a plane.(I think)

I use http://www.quicksarchery.co.uk/super...p?product=1288this one. It has an adjustable depth on the point tool so you can adjust to you specific shaft. It also has 3 interchangable collars for different sized shafts. the 5/16 collar should be ok if not a little big. I have it and you can borrow it friday if you wish as its a little expensive. Ill bring it along, you bring ya shafts and we can see how it fits.

Those little silver coloured metal pencil sharpeners, available in artist shops, do just right for 9/32 knocks.
