Maybe it's an American thing, but I've seen it listed as 5/16 x 24. Probably the same thing.

If you need them, you can usually pick up a set of taps and dies that are good enough for occasional use on ebay for a few quid - very useful.

By a bizarre coincidence, I've just had the mechanical engineer measure the threads on my bow (I needed to know for a project).
He agrees with 5/16 - 24 UNF.

Is he right in thinking the thread for the clicker is 4-40 UNC ?!
