| I like having a centre point but found the pins just too big. In the end I took the middle bit out of a broken Beiter fluo pin insert leaving me with an open ring. I then melted 4 holes with a pin around the edge and fed black cotton through to make a crosshair. A tiny dot of glue at the crossing point holds it together and makes a point just big enough to see. I have tried various methods, couldn't get on at all with an open ring, I need something to place in the middle, so this works really well for me ![]() Ori

| Beiter tubes you can't really beat. 8mm or 12mm, more inserts than you know what to do with. I use the clear 8mm one with (up until today) an 8mm green circular insert that left it open. My old pin died and I couldn't get the green ring out (it was glued in from a previous repair) so have started using the diamond black insert, which appears to be working quite nicely.

| Go the Titan. They're tough and they look good. I got one of the first blue ones one for compound and one for recurve. Can get them with smaller dots if you want or just an open ring. Also with the optical fibre etc. |

| Titan recurves are about $100 Australian. I've noticed that recurvers tend to be rather tight when it comes to spending money. I spat it when I was 13 with so called recurve sights. They were weak, spindly and always rattled to bits. So I went out and spent $350 on a Surloc to the horror of my fellow club members. I still have that sight on my SPT bow (it got retired when I changed to Copper John) and it never failed on either my recurves or my compounds. I understand budget concerns, but its a little wierd to be tight about something as important as your sight. I've been shooting my Titan recurve since they first came out and have not had to replace it. |
