Recurve Sight Ring

Hi,

I have a Cartel K-Sight, which seems mostly fine for me at the moment.

One thing I do find with it, is that the pin in the sight ring gets in the way of me trying to focus on the target.

Short of snipping the pin off with wire cutters, can anyone recommend an open ring that would fit on my K-Sight?

any 8/32 sight pin will be ok...

I use a Beiter sight tunnel which is supplied open, but click-in inserts are available in many shapes and colours..

Arten sight pins are also available open or with optional press-in inserts...

Hi Jimster,

I've got (almost) the same sight, and tried a few things, including:
- using the tip of a busted arrow to knock the original sight pin out, leaving a small (but not very clean) open ring
- a Spigarelli square sight pin: http://www.onlinearcheryequipment.co...&productid=514
- a Beiter sight pin (the larger one, Ø12mm) which is what I'm using now: http://www.merlinarcherycentre.co.uk...ht_Tunnel.html

All of the above are 8/32 size threads to fit the Cartel sight block. The Beiter took a bit of coaxing but eventually fit; it's been my favourite so far, since I prefer to shoot an open ring, but can stick the orange crosshair in if I need it (it's included as an accessory), without having to wind the whole thing in and out of the sight block again.

If you want to shoot with an open ring (i.e. excercising your brain's natural affinity for concentric circles etc.), I would recommend getting the Beiter - the larger Ø12mm one, not the smaller Ø8mm one.

And if you have way too much money to spend, consider one of these: http://www.francearcherie.com/fiche.php?PID=441 Have fun!

try the titan recurve sight pin , i bought it because i like to look through the pin at the target and the cartel one restricted the view.

I did not get on with it indoors as you see to much of the target so i used my Arten with a crosshair insert.

Now i have set the bow for outdoors i have changed to the titan and it is great (IMHO)

got mine from Quicks , not cheap (£40ish) , i have also modified it buy sticking on crosshairs which are designed for a compound scope but you stick them on then cut them down before you remove the backing.

i now have an orange flo in the middle that comes with the pin and orange crosshairs , and so far i love it (hope my scores prove it works ......... or is that me pointing it right not the pinsight )

Take a pair of scissors to it. Failing that, I quite like the Cartel square ones with the pin chopped out...
