Hoyt replacement cams and limbs can they be bought?

At the back of the Hoyt catalogue they show a range of cams and limbs. Some which don't appear on their bows (round cams for example). this leads me to think they are "accessories" does anyone in the UK stock these. I am asking becuase if I bought a hoyt compound and later wanted to increase the weight beyond its range, could I buy alternative limbs from anywhere?

It may be worth giving a shop a call,
their number is listed on the web site, here's a link for you.

Ask for Tony or Simon.
Hope this helps. John

Some Hoyt distributors might stock a small amount of such accessories, but in all probability they prefer to order them as and when required. Such spare parts aren't in as much demand as complete bows etc., so distributors prefer to invest in stock with a higher turnover (well, the ones I know do anyway).

Agreed.

The cost of new limbs and cams means that it is often easier to just buy a new bow (obviously no use if there isn't one in the setup you want).

I think it goes without saying, if you changing something on a bow (especially an increase in poundage via change of limbs) you should also get new cables and string.

Recurves are much easier to upgrade in this respect.

Kae.

I have recently looked into this as my better half was looking to increase the draw weight on her bow. I got quotes from several dealers for new limbs for her Razortec - all came in £225-£250. That's without a new string & cables. If no-one has the limbs you're looking for it's 6-8 weeks delivery.
Afterwards you'll be left with your old limbs / cams which are pretty much useless .
I gave up and ordered a new bow for her

Indeed - but not as well as complete bows do!

Go to the classifieds and have fun.

I recently lent my bow to someone who wanted to play with a compound. They have a considerably shorter draw length than me, so what it was wouldn't fit.
New cams: 50 quid.
Set of strings and cables (SDM Strings - cheers Stu!): 35 quid.

Total cost of effectively a new compound that fits - 85 quid. And that way, if they decide compound is not the way to go, it's not a huge expense...

EDIT: Oh, yeah, if you want a NEW set of cams/limbs, Quicks can get them, but it might be pricey - as someone else found out...
