London Youth Games --RU there?

The London Youth Games are on tomorrow at Crystal Palace - assembly 9:15
sighters at 10:15
Any proud Mums and Dads going to be there?

My two horrors will be shooting as they did last year, representing the borough again -( LBWF must be well short of candidates lol)
The Games are truly wonderful - much akin to Olympics for Kids - in the sunshine anyway!

Not so sure about the weather tomorrow though - spotting scope from the tent I reckon..
...and " yes , son - of course I was watching you- you did really well!"

Seriously - if it's anything other than a complete washout , it'll be great!

Living, as I do, in Waltham Forest (LBWF) I shoot in Newham.

I took my Protege to the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace and did it rain? Godd, Olde Englishe Aquatic Archery! My superstar got a 764 on his Windsor, beating the best of the rest of our team by 155 but he's never shot a Windsor. He only started just before Christmas last and he's now 17 so I've been preparing him for JNOC - He's doing a Gents FITA and a York.

I got the shoot list yesterday and it seems that there is less than a dozen recurve archers doing either - he's doing both so I hope the guys at Lilleshall see his potential for 2012.

Hope you enjoyed the rain!

Rain?

Yeah like so much bloody rain -I've got the job of team manager next year.
Might have dried out by then.

Good shooting by your protege.
My two did ok - one with a broken wrist- one needing such a haircut - bloody hippy! Our team came well down on last year with 2 noob's.

Ahh but next year there'll be some kick ass changes - wont there!

Being that Scott and I live in Waltham Forest I've discussed joining Ascham and we'll be thinking about this after JNOC when membership renewals comes up.

I need to do 100 yard shoots to work my way up to Bowman - Scott is getting close to Jnr Bowman scores. The only downside is that you shoot on a Sunday and that's when most of the competitions seem to come up. I've got a White Rose and want to earn the set! Apart from that we enjoy the contests.

Kids! Can't feed them gruel! Good dose of National Service (but not abroad!!!)

As I Understand it the agreement is that the only day we can't shoot is a Saturday...it's a shared field.
As you say we do shoot Sundays, also We always shoot Wednesdays, sometimes shoot Tuesdays, and occaisionally shoot Fridays ( all evening times) and of course Bank Holidays.
(That reminds me I must apply for keys so I can shoot as I please.)

We are fielding 3 league teams now, with a 'hardcore' (almost always there) 7/8 members looking to gain or regain Bowman status or above in readiness for our (dare I say it) promotion to Division One...and we're riding high on a good friendly, relaxed but semi competitive spirit among us.

Why not both come along as guests before renewals? ...pm me when you fancy it and I'll make sure that you're expected.

Club York Championship this coming Sunday- and much better weather promised too!

My other half shot in the London Youth Games for Brixton about 100 years ago (and I've got the cute photos to prove it).
