The Joy of Twang

Yesterday I shot for the second time in two weeks and also as it happens in about 20 years. All this new gear I just tortured my credit card obtaining was real fun and while I don't think I have forgotten the fundamentals it was rather suprising what has left my mind. Like how to string my own bow for one. Hmm. But, with all the helpful folks around me this was remedied very quickly!

After about 3 hours I could finally stop shooting, admitting to myself that I was feeling tired and I was suprised at quite how painful my legs were once I got home and sank into a hot bath. While I was happy to believe that my shoulders, upper back and such would feel the effort - given quite how much I cycle in the week the fatigue in my legs really suprised me. But it's such a nice feeling...

As I said, the fundementals were all still in me somewhere and I was quite happy with my groups especially given that I haven't quite got the subconcious layout of my body yet. One of the coaches watched me and commented on my release - I was just letting go without any reaction from my right arm - and once I tried to make it right I got 3 golds in a row. While that didn't happen again for a while in the day it was a great motivator...

I just hope the weather and my calendar lets me get outside while there is a theoretical summer this year - but for now I have plenty or practice to do indoors just getting my muscles used to shooting again.

So, why did I post ? Oh, just to say "I'm back and loving it!"
