| An interesting evening. So bobbed up the field tonight with the wife so she could get some short distance practice in after four weeks recovery on a wrist/tendon injury.
Left my kit at home and decided to do some grounds maintenance whilst she was shooting.
Re-cut some of our distance markers with the Battery strimmer i borrowed from my nan. Which soon went flat & has no cutting power....petrol strimmer required next time.
Anywho the wife was huffing a puffing about grouping and not being able to hold the weight(four weeks off she holds 36lbs normally). Three changes of tab later she still high and right on the boss to varying degrees, so i check the centre shot of the new button (i broke the last one) & make a small tension adjustment.
She says "you shoot it tell me what you think"
Me "your having a laugh, your arrows are too short........" checks......using an anchor on my chin and the platform just under, well within the safety limits.....
I then proceeded to shoot a three inch group at 30yards slightly high & slightly right of the gold.
So I had a right good laugh & the bonus is my results were similar to hers so I can tune her bow without her around & get a decent base setting myself and then fine tune with her at practice nights!
In conclusion I say Recurve? Pah! Its easy! (tongue firmly in cheek as my shoulders are aching and my draw arm from elbow to wrist is sore this morning).
