Confusion reigns.....

If you shoot a round that is normally shot indoors, outdoors (e.g. Portsmouth), do you record the classification as an Indoor or Outdoor classification?

Please post all jeering cries of 'You fool, why don't you know the answer?' to this address.....

You fool, why don't you know the answer?

You can't record a classification for an indoor round shot outdoors IIRC

It counts as an outdoor round. There are no outdoor classification and handicap tables for these rounds. As Murray says, you can't count it for indoor classifications and handicaps, even though there's no advantage to shooting indoor rounds outdoors.

I don't think there are any outdoor classifications or handicaps for either of these rounds, are there?

There's no such round as a frostbite so that question is academic - yes I know we all shoot them but it isn't a 'real' round.

I was almost certain that FITA allowed their indoor rounds to be shot outside but not their outdoor rounds inside. On the other hand I've no idea where I heard that or if it's correct. If true it would then fair for you to have an indoor classification and handicap for the indoor round shot outside. Our club does it this way for records anyway, but that's a local decision.

Just for clarification, could you tell me where in the rule book does it states you cannot shoot an indoor round outdoors. As far as I am aware it must be shot under GNAS rules of shooting for target archery.

I see no advantage to shooting an indoor round outdoors, so why should archers who don't have access to a full length indoor range not be able to record their classification and handicaps. Personally I find my indoor and outdoor scores very similar.

My thinking was that although the Stafford is classified as an Indoor Round for handicap and classification, isn't it normally shot outside?

I would presume that to follow the Rules of shooting indoor classified rounds must be shot indoors and outdoor classified rounds shot outdoors.
