Line Cutters True or False

Hi Guys
I have heard through the grapevine that anyone that shoots line cutter there is a proposal in hand to award the lower value points unless it actually clears the line
How True is this? has anyone else heard this or is it just a old wifes tale

I heard that they were thinking of changing to outward scoring ( you have to have the whole arrow inside the ten to score ten). It would be an easy way of raising the bar without changing anything else.

As the line itself is part of the adjacent higher scoring band as far as size specification goes then unlikely I would have thought.

I was at a comp where the judge said (probably tongue in cheek) that if he was called to adjudicate on a line cutter he would give the lower score.

Haven't heard of it. If it were to happen, it'd have to pass FITA congress which occurs at the World Outdoor championships, ie. next one 2009, earliest.
My guess, old wives tale.

That one's been batting around for decades and it's total B?@*$!ks. For one, you'll be pricing everyone out of the game cos it'd lead to needing X10's to ensure you don't get screwed out of points just cos you happen to be 6'6" tall and have a 32" draw length. For two, you'll find that there will be about 10 times more face changes at the compound indoor nationals and for three, why??? Nobody's tied for a title on a maximum score yet so what's the point.

That idea comes up every now and again. Nothing ever comes of it though. The last time there was serious discussion about it, they just introduced the inner ten for compunds, instead. Then dropped it for outdoor shooting and went over to just using it for tie-breaks...

are you talking field or target oncea?? as far as i am aware that an nfas field face ,if you cut the line it scores the higher value, an efaa face has to cut through the line to score. if yer talking target,i have no idea.
