She said I was becomming obsessed!

Shhhs. I mean I ONLY shot three times a week, well apart form teh garden practice, but that doesn't count does it. And I've only got one bow. And I've spend HARDLY any of my bonus on new bits. So what she on about. Hmmm hmm. Women, they just don't understand!

No, it's just non archers that don't understand. I bet the women on here spend as much on kit as any bloke. And when it comes to clothing for archery, I bet they make us guys look like amateurs

Think yourself lucky Beardy, I'm as addicted to fishing as archery, so I have 16 meter poles for match fishing, rods and reels for every occaision, sea fishing gear and fly fishing gear, mainly for holidays.

Being a THSO, twin hobbies, single income, is stressful

Don't talk to me about money and time spent on archery!!

Can't remember last time I got new stuff, but Peter and Cal have had loads recently. I find myself looking longingly at stuff, with no money to spend on it.

Never mind, birthday soon, might just have to drop massive hints.

so get were your comming from. so you spend the entire weekend either shooting with or fiddling with your bow. or you come home with a big sloppy grin on your face after doing a robin hood on your very new and very expensive arrows and all that they can say is well how much is that gonna cost. non archers just dont get it.
though i have found away that seems to lessen the constant moans.
when ever i intend to spend either way to much cash on bow related items or have been putting in a bit to much time at the arhery field.
i make sure that i have gone and gotten somthing reall nice, usually about once a month i go and purchase some over priced trinket or organise a nice meal out. or go get that pair of shoes or handbag that has been drooled over for the last age. sure it costs and it takes me away from archery related stuff. but hey we all have to make sacrafices.
its the whole pavlovs dog thing, eventually the message gets home that archery equals treats.
problem solved.

Dont know what all the fuss is about! I spend most Saturdays at the club, most Sundays at a tournament, shoot at the club one evening per week and in my back garden at least twice a week - my missus is glad to get me out of the house! It's when I dont take junior with me that she starts to get grumpy.

I only said to her the other day that I was already looking for a 2008 calendar so I can start entering the dates for next year's shoots! I've also started the theme of the "overnight" shoots too, so I can spend the Saturday night away somewhere - it was met with more enthusiasm than I expected!

Interesting theory.. there aren't that many women on here though, are there, and imo the kit buying stage is where a lot of women give up. I regularly see VERY mediocre men archers buying 500+ worth of kit, whereas I think women, especially if they have children, feel guilty about this. We do manage to pick up the bargains when the fellas upgrade though!

The practising and competing does take up time, and you need to put in a lot of hours to get really good. More than I can manage, tbh! I'm lucky enough to have a really understanding husband, who's very supportive, but it's a big ask!

And I only have to spend more money on archery clothes because people keep thinking my green trousers are brown!! Grr!!
