Weekend Break

We here at Border, run a club at the weekends. The club is run like every other club, it has a shoot every 3rd sunday of the month, Ann does the catering, the company has supported the club, with its 76 3d targets, 42 shooting lanes, (heard shots) we have our own scoring system, and there are 3 guys from the factory that shoot it. It has a tower to shoot down from and the Club is called the Border Reivers.
We host a 2 or 3 day shoot in the summer, Which JohnK and Malcy attended this summer gone. There are champs from all over europe come for the BBQ and such. We limit it to 60 archers as it makes a good shoot with little holdups.
My point is that the course is out 365 days a year. We at Border Invite anyone to come and shoot it. Just contact us and we can give you details.
If you come up on a week day then there is the obigatory factory tour.
We hope to contact Dave at some point to see about arrainging a little Shoot some time.
But near by we have access to a large 16 bed house, self catering, (works out cheap if your up for the week as a group), or there are B&Bs for about 30 pounds a night.

We have guests come from all over europe, some from the other side of the pond, just to do exactly this, we are 12 miles from the border, so please dont say its TOO far!

Come up.

ps.if there are any Target Archers in the area looking to start a club, we have some great facilities which we could use. There is a walled garden which is needing some TLC. But 120m flat areas are very possible In woods, very little wind.

Any other takers?

I would be heavily interested. Sounds like a fun time away. Althought it would probably be best for me next year.

Pin the tial!

The donkey needs a tail
Pick a date, and we can start organising it!

You guys know the forum better than we do, so Using AIUK as the comunication. could get something going when we know the dates?

Either way, the 3rd sunday of the month shoot happens either way.
you can join in if you like!

Border Owners dont get as much stick as non owners, but its our turf

(ive not been clear. Find out the dates, from AIUK, then we can set things up)

Not to be a damp squib, but any official AIUK event needs OKing by Dave first.

I would certainly be interested if Dave gives it a nod. The pics of the field course I have seen on the website look fab..

I've shot this course four times now, and there's nothing else like it. None of the shots are at extreme ranges for field, but they're very challenging because of the terrain and Sid's keen eye. Be warned target archers - this is a bowhunters' course. Crouching and canting may well be the order of the day for several targets, and the scoring system can be punishing - one arrow per target, up to four targets per "lane".

I'll be heading up again next year for the Border shoot, and could always be persuaded to go again sooner if an AIUK shoot was organised.
