I could see something like an Olympic round with a recurve freestyle or compound UL then a field round with an AFB or hunter recurve (recurve traditional) then finish up with a clout with a ELB. Nuts or what ??

Which means that, when it comes down to it, the competition could be called - "The level 2 Coaching Course".

Not really as the athletes involved would have to be able to succesfully use the equipment.

The sort of competition sam talks about has already got fita backing in Ski arc and archery marathon.

National championships have historically included different disciplines target, field and clout and some still do.

The grange christmas shoot implemented a new rule - barebow using club bows only! Just to make it even more interesting, I shot left handed instead of my normal right... I think I got the second highest score

Just to be awkward though, they awarded the bottle of wine to the person with the *lowest* score who of course was a *senior coach* To be fair, he was trying hard to loose (so he says )

It was good fun though and I'd be up for a multi-bow round for a laugh... left OR right handed

As ASW says - there are still some tournaments which provide the archer with the ability to try his/her hand at a variety of disciplines (of which the Skye week is a great example)

we do a jellybow clout at the club with whimpy poundages and your own arrows. spines don't match, but it's hilarious!!

Newbury Archers put on the Newbury Triple. Three different rounds, target, 3 dozen at 30 metres, clout, 3 dozen at usual distances and 18 unmarked field. Not sure if they still do it but it was always well attended.

Different disciplines and different bow styles/types for each one is the real test...

Perhaps we should suggest this as an AIUK summer bank holiday weekend event? I'd probably be up for it. Different clubs could hold each event. The only problem I could see is with equipment in that I expect few people have access to a trad recurve/AFB, an ELB and a compound/recurve (I certainly don't).

How about as an alternative type of Easter shoot on April fools day or closest weekend
