Yeah that's the idea, Skye week as Murray said and others I am sure do similar events. Requiring the competitors to use a different bow style in each event would be the icing on the cake

Why not just attend the Taverham Archers 4 way shoot in late March. That has various different disciplines

In Modern Pentathlon, the competitors are assigned equipment, rather than using their own. Particularly fun in the horsey bit.
What about a simple target/field/clout format, where you are assigned bows recurve/compound/trad . As a slight dispensation, you may declare in advance one bowstyle/bowtype combination, but the other two will be determined by the organisers.

In fact, doesn't this start to sound like the Ironman triathlon equivalent. Roll on December!

if no-one else is willing to take you on at this...I will

if you attend the Birthday weekender again this year - and assuming it's the same format as last year.

1 Recurve (sighted) - FITA 18
1 Trad - AFB/LB - Portsmouth

and if there's a field element

barebow (compound/recurve/afb/horsebow)

if not (and we are allowed to do so)

return to the club on the Sunday to shoot a barebow Short Windsor.

The winner is the archer with the highest combined score for all events. In the event of a tie, single arrow, highest score decides the winner.

The prize? Winning should be prize enough.....

Hey Tarks, I wasn't making some sort of challenge but simply floating out an idea. Saying that I would certainly be interested in participating in such an event if one came along. When is the Birthday Weekender this year?

Dunster Week goes a short way towards this. Combines a York, Fita, Field, Longbow two-way Western, Double two-way Clout, Western & Double York. I know it doesn't necessarily cover the bowstyle element but many do mix it up particularly to include the field and longbow days - a great week.

I actually did this last year - shot with two types of compound bow, recurve and longbow.

I'm not doing Dunster Week this year (due to the fact that I'm currently associated to Southern Counties not GWAS through my old club), but I'm seriously considering at least some of it next year. I've been told its a very good week of shooting.
