| A question that might best be directed to Grant as he was there and had a vested interest, sorry I cannot help further, but I am sure that Grant would be able to help if you pm'd him. Eventually the full results will be posted on GNAS page . |

| Im not surprised Mike Qualified. He has been shooting well from what I have heard. Shot equal national record at Hawkes from what I was told.

| Can some one clear something up for me. Was the conditions at the hall terrible or some thing? The scores seemd at least 10 points down on what I would expect from our top boys? Not one compounder made over 590 and Recurves gents barely breaking into the 580? Im not having a go but this just seems poor from our boys? Im sure Im missing something but personally I would expect the standard to be a little higher then that. I know I would be happy with 560 at the moment but im just puzzeled by the scores.

| There were a number of factors affecting the shooting this year. For a start, it is two weeks earlier in the year, so that the PU could fit a trip to Australia in the 2008 schedule. This means two less weeks of training after a break over Christmas (which a fair few of us had). Personally, I'd shot twice in over a month so I felt the strain on the day. The recurvers have been mostly training at distance, since their outdoor season starts in two weeks. (I know for a fact that one of them had not shot an 18m tournament all season). The lighting in the hall seemed different. There is plenty of light, but it's not very bright. Off day? I'd have liked to shoot better, but have to accept that I didn't. For me it was down to stamina, mostly. I had a few bad arrows that meant I didn't make the team (one shot in particular). Ho hum. Olympic prep begins now. |
