Staying away...

Wasn't totally sure if this should be in another section, but anyway.....

This years tournie calendar includes some shoots not visited before, a couple of which are doubles and further afield than I've been used to. This means - sensibly - I need to camp. Being unused to this kind of thing, are there any major pitfalls to be avoided?
(of course you could all keep me in the dark and hope to be at one of the comps that I make an #### of myself at - not that you would!)

Unless you can camp on thr field - then the field party can wake you, and you can, out of gratitude join them. What could be better?

If you don't own an inflatable mattress, Morrisons do them for under a tenner. Otherwise it's a bit awkward trying to shoot the following day when you can't move your spine...

Make sure you get there in plenty of time for the best spot, and bring loads of sausages and a disposable bbq
Also bring an inflatable mattress instead of those roll mats and big pillows, otherwise you'll be like i was and will have a bad night's sleep which doesn't get you off to a good start

Echo that. Last year the second day of a double York at Leamington Spa was severely hampered by an overweight middle aged man having to sleep directly on the ground because someone forgot all the air matresses!

Forget the inflatable matresses as when they pop ( not if ) then your second days shoot will be a dissaster buy either a top quality camp bed or better still a fishing bed-chair which are designed for long use and plenty of abuse, they also come with adjustable legs to level out all but the most extreme cliff face LoL. so a campsite or local field will be no problem at all.

A nice big tent and eqally large barbeque might help you have a good night if not much sleep LoL.

Have a look on ebay for the tent if you don't already own one but always buy a good quality tent.

As I do not sleep! Maybe 4 hrs a night I could give you some experience of lillishall camp sites. Set site as erecting tent see and hear abuse from ronniebaby and LMP live in fear rest of shoot that they may try to carry out their wants
