Foreign FITA Shoots

This post for some reason was closed after I originally posted it so I will post it again.
Where can I find a list of overseas FITA Star shoots?
Can't find anything on FITA website, or governing body sites as they dont tend to be in English.
Can anyone help me

I remember that one - and remember being surprised that the original one from artee appeared to be shut down....
I was quite interested in the potential replies myself......never know, lottery win or whatever

Thanks Tracey.
As I have now done two Vegas shoots I have got the overseas shoot bug.
I have thought about doing the Arizona Cup, till I saw the entry price.
If I can afford it I will do Vegas again but may need someone to share the room with as it dont half cut down the costs.
Shoot well and hope to see you soon

Roger

There's a link from the Archery Guy's (Al Wills - not our Al Wills but one of the Canadian FITA representatives I believe) website Archery Guy Home Page
to the Federation of Canadian Archers website CALENDAR/CALENDRIER on which there are details of a fair number of international FITA and other events. Of course the predominant FITA events are within Canada.

It's interesting to note just how few FITA Stars there are in France. Doumé mentions in the thread that Little Miss Purple unearthed that the French ranking system is based on double 720s. I suppose, in this Olympic year, many of the shoots will also be based on double 720s.

The Canadian calendar has many more double FITA stars, but on the other hand as Canada is the largest country in the world, it will be difficult to reach them all.

even the Canadians will admit that they're only the second largest country... Russia at 25.3 Frances is considerably bigger (14.8 Frances).

... sorry, you're right. After the breakup of the USSR with all the "Stans" breaking away the loss of territory was considerable ... but not quite that much However, the distances are awe inspiring

USA Archery lists the 2008 Tournament Schedule on their web site. The list doesn't identify STAR FITA's specifically but it is a starting point and it does identify people to contact about each shoot. Some of the shoots can be ruled out due to their titles (i.e. "Indoor", "Field", etc.) whereas most of the "State Outdoor Championships" and "Cups" should be STAR FITA's. - John
