junior classifications

in addition to the adult combined round details / classification scores tables ive compiled on our website ive got round to doing some of the junior ones - all the junior tables for recurve and longbow are now available at OOBAC - rounds & classifications - these are the up-to-date scores from the new GNAS tables so please feel free to grab them and find them useful

(many thanks again to the people - mainly robbo and furface - who enabled me to put these together)

Thanks very much Rob, I've been trying (in vain up 'til now) to find some junior longbow classifications for ages. Nice to have something to compare against, though to be honest I'm not too fussed about scores, I just enjoy shooting! First proper outdoor shoot tomorrow, only been out twice so far so it'll be interesting. We're shooting a short Warwick, which I think is 2 doz at 50yrds and 2 doz at 40yrds, only shot 40 yards up until now, so it should be a good afternoons shooting, lets hope the weather stays fair

Thanks

The update for the Rules of Shooting has now been sent out to clubs with the AGM papers - so it is all out there!

Rob, nice to see the tables on a club web site. Seems we both agree that for most people it makes most sense to have the tables for all rounds for each age group on one page, rather spread across more than 10 tables.

Nice to see GNAS have finally caught up with what was in the drop box on the 5th of January.

Can I pose a question regarding the longbow classification and the scores to be obtained.
"Why are the junior longbow scores higher than the junior recurve"??
I have noticed that usually the longbow scores are normally lower, why the change??
Please try not to shoot me down in flames, I too am curious.

I thinks it is because there is only a single "Junior" group each for boys and girls rather than the separate age bands. At a guess GNAS seem to have pitched the longbow scores just below the Under 16 Recurve scores. The excuse was that there were "insufficient data" for juniors shooting longbow to be able to produce scores for the separate age bands. This makes the scores needed something of a discouragement for the younger archers (my son, ages 11, for one!).

I really don't understand why they couldn't have just made the handicaps needed the same as those for recurve (or perhaps one handicap higher) and reviewed it at the end of the year.

Anyone know if its possible to download, or more precisely, print the changes rather than the whole book?

????????? Unless I am missing something, Long bow classifications scores are lower. I.E>

York gents
U18 JMB recurve 1015 Longbow 450
U16 JB recurve 574 Longbow 100
U14 JB recurve 283 Longbow

Correct that, now I see what you mean.
Although the tables for longbow are split by age group, the U16, U14, U13(for ladies) and U12's all require the same scores.
No idea
