Leigh, thanks for clarifing that. I wasn't sure how to read it - obviously wrongly for which I apologise.

The thing I take from this thread is that when you get to the level of the Koreans and indeed any national team or individual they are always on the look out for something that will give them that extra point or two so it would be irresponsible not to cover all the bases.

If the Koreans and the other teams feel that there is an edge or something to be lost by not using a particular shaft then lower down the chain their 1 or 2 points gain just might be 10 or 20pts.

IMO when it comes to arrows I would be surprised if a top archer would shoot a bucket load of arrows just because they were free, there is too much to lose.

personally I could not care less if the Koran team switched to wooden arrows and reintroduced the traditional logbow to the olympics but I do think that it was not a great idea to name another forum member (particularly one with the respect that Gtek commands) without providing the info. I am not taking sides but this shold have been sorted between you both and not in the public domain. I am sure you are both honorable gents - and resolving this should reflect this.

I also fall into the "not really bothered" camp - what I will say though is that the original accusations were in the public domain, so I don't see why the resolution should be behind closed doors.

Cool... What are you trying to prove though... That you're right? Or Nanos are good arrows? Or does this go back to your original argument of carbon arrows maybe banned at certain WRS events?

Fair point but I guess that 2 wrongs do not make a right. Now I will re-read the original posts

Here are cut and pastes of what gtek said about my posts on 2 threads refering to Nano's

Quote:
Seeing as how the Korean Team just recently purchased (yes, they BUY their arrows) about $40,000 USD worth of X10 shafts, I doubt it.
Quote:
It is, in fact, a complete falsehood, and I am mystified that this sort of thing seems acceptable on this forum.
Quote:
So your defense for starting this thread with a false statement is a reference to a total supposition ?
Quote:
Since the basis of this thread is an outright falsehood, and there's borderline slander being committed on this forum....

Jay - I have just posted copies of what gtek said. My understanding is that Easton knew the Korean's and others were testing nano's when gtek made the statements he did on the threads. If it were a personal issue then I would have left it, but the strong tone of gteks comments were IMHO because Easton knew how well the pro's were testing.

After I had the misfortune to read the aforementioned thread (and others), I didn't like the way gtek abruptly, and without justification, denounced Watch_Man's statement. It was less than tactful. Something to the effect of Watch_Man's original statement being "an outright falsehood".. tantamount to saying "you are a liar." We do not say things like this on this forum.

Remember, this is the man who;
- for a long time refrained from disclosing his commercial interests, while at that time peddling Hoyt/Easton advertising factoids.
- disclosed into the public domain the contents of a confidential PM.
- routinely displays a seemingly arrogant disdain for the educated opinions of others.
- rarely if ever backs up statements with much in the way of evidence (admittedly this must be very hard to do in his position).

IMO This is not the way to gain the kind of respect that he does deserve.

I agree with tel; Watch_Man should have a chance to defend his standpoint on here.

In all honesty, it doesn't surprise me that the Koreans (or any other national team) are trying out the Nanos. It is an arrow that is in a similar class to that of the X10 and it would be foolish not to at least do some testing to see if they can get those extra couple of points.

If I had the money/time/skill it is something that I would most certainly do!!
