 Longbow wood. I have a piece of straight grained beech wood and wondered if anyone has any information of its suitability for longbow making.      |

| Beech is a hard hardwood. generally straight grain. On it's own it will be too brittle to be a self bow. I have my doubts as its suitability for a bow. |

| Beech Hi Wingate, Thanks for the tips I had my doubts too, yet although it could be a waste of time I'm tempted to have a go. I noticed in your notes that you are a turner I also do a bit and find the skill very useful in arrow making. Regards Forthtroop |
