 Olympic Archers in todays daily Mail Well at least a photo of our ladies team from the 1908 Olympics is  They have just shown it on GMTV !

| I think this was the last time GB won a Gold medal in Olympic Archery with Sybil "Queenie" Newall winning gold. The story was actually very interesting with some photos of other sports. It cost £20,000 to run the games or roughly one millionth of what 2012 will cost AND they made a profit. The list of sports included power boat racing, polo and tug-of-war. On the downside women athletes were in the minority and there was no participation from third World Countries. Many of the competitors were from the wealthy and aristocracy. One third of the budget was spent on parties and banquets
