World Cup Final in Edinburgh?

There have been a few rumors going around for several months about whether Edinburgh Council will put in a bid to host the World Cup Final. It seems they are!

Capital's target is Archery World Cup - Scotsman.com News

Archery event adds another string to city's bow - Edinburgh Evening News

Apparently Holyrood Park is one of the venues being looked into.

Exciting!

An October/November final in Edinburgh would certainly be a change from Mexico and Dubai. Remember to wrap up warm!!

And I loved the comment from The Scotsman's article:

Quote:
As an added incentive to hold it in Edinburgh why not let the archers loose on live targets in Broomhouse / Niddrie / Gracemount / Muirhouse / Blackhall etc?

yes i was aware of the earlier article when the council were considering the bid... just hadn't seen the updated one saying they were definitely putting a bid in (or Bob's blog!).

very poor that there hasn't been more of an effort to get the SAA and GNAS behind the bid or at least to publicise it to the members that it was happening.

I'm surprised that the decision by the council to put a bid in didn't make the SAA website's news page if it has been known by you for a while.

I think it was between Edin Council and GNAS I'm not sure whether the SAA were involved proabably just informed and nothing in any minutes or word of mouth.

I have to read Bob's Blog to find out what's going on AND what he's getting up to

Bob's Blog was in the SAA news when he first started writing it

well seeing as you read it next time you see something which might be of interest to the rest of us postit on the SAA news page

if people don't know that a blog is regularly updated with interesting content they're hardly going to make a point of reading it regularly or subscribing to it
