Archery Report in Daily Mail

Strangely under the 'Olympics Beijing Bound' on page 73 of todays Mail is a report on Nichola Simpson and the achievements of the GB Compound Archers in Croatia. It is grouped in with some other stories.

The article is on the Daily Mail website, scroll down past the photo of the Marathon runner and the story is between the Olympic Badminton players and the Olympic synchronised swimmers.

Oh! and the BBC have the Compound archers in the Olympic section as well

Is GNAS keeping something from us?

Good to see that our archers are getting some of the recogniton they deserve, although a full article would be good - we're far better at archery than we are at football anyway.

Peter Jones should be commended for raising the profile of Archery in the National media as well as news websites. I believe he is also the person responsible for ensuring that the GNAS website is updated within minutes of the results coming through from the World Cup.

OK there is a little confusion as to what is and is not Olympic archery but I suppose at the end of the day it doesn't matter to us within the sport as long as we get the coverage.

I believe Peter will be starting a blog on the BBC website in a couple of weeks time where he will be explaining the differences and also giving some more information about the archers themselves to pad out what is in the press.

For Peter
