I dont know look at Deliverance. Your not saying that archers cant have close range combat are you. I do agree that if i had been alive in the 9th Century and fighting in an army been an archer is the most sensible option. Set far back away from the mindless drones sent to die in hand to hand combat. Normally 1st or second to attack and 1st to leave the battle field to go fletch more arrows and do the raffle!

I just wonder who they would buy their tickets off on a battle field. Obviously the enemy supply the prizes but who would draw the tickets?

Well it's usually the lady paramount isn't it, so just grab one of the battle field wenches and get her to dip in your pot
