We have 13 wages to pay from 1000 bows a year, we have a couple of KW ro 2 ovens and several 3phase KW saws and the likes. The health and saftey issues are way beyond sanity. A metal earth needed on kettels when you dont need them at home!!!

Im sure the 3rd world manufacturers dont have that kind of problem. They also insist on staff having a approximatly moderate level of common sence with NO education, while we expect no common sence with a full eduction!
Plain daft.
Still, the last 2 H&S officeres we trained up left is within the year of training, leaving us 2k out of pocket each. Looks like im not only the company First Aider, im the H&S guy, sales, R&D, Technical helpline, HR, purchasing, and sometimes, actual factory work. Good job there is two Sids here. Im all for Cloning at least then i can get under the minumim wage as there is only one of us doing a 48 hour day

Still id best get off one of my pet soap boxes!
I wouldnt stop working here, as its the archers that make this job fun...
Pride in your job beats money anyday, as long as you have enough money to pay the bills! The Borders beats London for me.

If this has happened, then it must be fairly recent. I was able to get in touch with them in March (by phone) and they refurbed my Olympic sight.

I was told last week that it was because the owner of Arten died suddenly, leaving ownership of the company in doubt, not that there were particular financial difficulties.

Eats, shoots and leaves: It is a shame they fixed them for free.

It is a tough life for business in the UK these days and a Company with the reputation that Arten had for customer service is an expensive luxury.

Would you have paid if they'd asked? Probably, if you like the product.

I found out a week ago when I wanted to buy a tower fletching jig and the dealer had no stock... I still need the jig though!

I would have paid for the repair and i would of paid the p&p to get the stuff back as the sight is about the only thing that i have never changed since i started all those years ago

I have been told that there is a problem with succession in the business eg.. who is going to take it over when the owners retire, like sons/daughters.
Also, far eastern imports like Cartel, making similar products at a lower retail price
