I think it's because it will exaggerate bow movement when at full draw/aiming

Which the technical explanation for you to use .30, .55, .70, .80, 1.0
I have only been seeing the people using .70 and .80.
Then because nobody uses 1.0

I think most of us just go for the maximum magnification that still allows a decent level of steadiness...for most people that seems to be around .75
although there is benefit from using .5 or less when starting out
