Cresting tool

My husband spent all Sunday making me a cresting jig with some of his old RC plane moters and my sons mechano set. It is fantastic and works very well.
I have plenty of arylic paint (hubbys model making kit raid ) and am now trying to decide what my arrow crest will be.

Any interesting suggestions?

cresting is something individual that will appeal to you and maybe no one else, have fun and choose something that will stand out and reflects your personality
look here for other designs Stickbow.com - Traditional Archery and Traditional Bowhunting
also look at the arrow wrap web sites to get inspiration, but above all have fun and post a pic of what you come up with

One of our club members, GB field longbow archer Joe Lloyd does some very nice cresting on his longbow arrows. I like the designs with a number of small concentric rings towards the point end of the shaft. Happy cresting

Hope that helps.
I'm in the process of doing a set of 12 presently, it saves so much time, just make your design using any programme or artwork if you want, cut and paste, print and trim and apply to arrow. Brush over with clear nail varnish and then a coat of varnish for your arrows and voila done.

Given you now have a fun jig I don't suppose lines along the shaft appeal?

Done this in the past, got to admit it works a treat. But doing proper cresting is also lots of fun

There may be a few designs here that may take your fancy Trueflight Feathers Examples or here Little John Arrows Though it may be easier to start with something a bit less complicated than some of those, at least it would be for me!
