I shoot compound @ 58lbs. I always offer to pull arrows, and I hardly ever have problems (I think the only problems have been going into a leg, and those needed more work to remove.) At tournaments when Dad is on the same target as me, I pull his arrows aswell, as he can't get to the target and back for more than the sighters. I don't mind pulling arrows, as I find it easy.

just my 2p int' pot

Being of slight build and recovering from a severe back injury, I will only ever pull arows with my left hand. That way if I do injure something, hopefully it wont stop me shooting (except for my own arrows. I do not EXPECT anyone to pull them for me), but it is nice when we all pitch in. In other words, If I can't pull it with one hand you can pull your own, oow er matron

I am always happy to pull for the scorer. They do a great job that I do not want to do.

I always ask to pull my own longbow arrows as they do have a nasty habit of snapping off at the point.

SF

I would not attend a shoot if I was unable to retrieve my own arrows. That just seems so wrong.

This weekend at penicuik was funny in respect of arrow pulling!! Lana asked to pull her own arrows and I pulled mine and the scorers arrows... mine came out like butter, the others - a recurve archer - took some pulling sometimes. It still follows.. if you consult at the beginning of a shoot and decide who is happy to do what then there is no problem. If you then decide you don't want your arrows pulled by someone then you can say that too!

take my own out and leave the rest to the others, its no easy chore sometimes taking every other buggers shafts from some targets, think if you explain this before you start most people are in agreement, for field archery in my case. beside i have seen how some archers tug at arrows and dont seem to really care how they are extracted apart from taking out there own,
