Beijing television coverage

Does anyone know if there's likely to be any olympic archery coverage live on tv this summer?

And if so what channel is it likely to be on?

Last time it was on the BBC with full coverage of the Bronze & Gold matches with commentary on Freeview.
Maybe Archery TV will cover more this time

they will probs just show archery on brittish TV if GBR is doing well, tho, if we do well, hopefully itll get a boost of publicity/popularity... remember curling in winter olympics when we won gold? people stayed up past 12 cause we were there! and most people never heard of the sport before.

go team GBR archery!

I didn't see any last time as I was in Spain over most of the Olympics (they did show a lot of fencing though). Would be good if the BBC showed some coverage (particularly if they tried to commentate ).

In the 2004 Olympics it was on the BBC red Button all day long for 4 days, you saw every match in full from the last 32 down to the finals and a load of team matches as well. I have something like 5 4 hour tapes of it all still. mind you being there for the ladies final in the stadium was even better.

regarding commentary, any sport on TV with out commentary would be as dull as dish water. i just wish that the BBC had someone on who new what they where talking about.

How about getting Peter Jones to commentate, he is a producer with BBC World and has worked hard to get archery in the public eye through the BBC website and he has a good knowledge of the sport.

I think you might want to say sorry to Gtek.... he's the one who does the commentaries at World Cup and Olympic matches (and other places).

Archery is one of those sports (like darts/snooker and the geriatric cricket game) that does not lend itself to rivetting commentary. It is the message not the messenger that is the problem - GTEK can only play with what he is given and archery is not a great observers sport unless you are in the archery fold.

The people commentating on the You Tube coverage of the Dubai final last year weren't bad. They were able to talk about the equipment itself, but other than that there isn't really anything.

I think Bald Eagle might have something to say about that?
