Records - open and club

Just been looking at the Sussex records. For each round there is an open record and a club record (I'll say again that this is the Sussex County records list). Sometimes the open is higher and sometimes the club is higher.

Is the distinction just that open is recorded at a tournament and club is on a club day, or is there something else?

I can't be categoric about Sussex, but as county records officer for Worcestershire this would be correct in our county.

Northern Counties web site has Official and Unofficial records for Juniors -
'Official' records are for those shooting at Record Status competitions, NCAS or county championship shoots whereas the 'unofficial' records can be gained by shooting at club target days or 'non-record status' competitions.
