More excellent footage from FITA. I wonder who the knowledgeable narrator is?

That was pretty good. Didn't realise that shooting at night could cause those sorts of problems for recurvers and it did surprise me at the number of top archers who'd said that they'd never shot at night (or under floodlights) before.

Back when I was a resident athlete at our Olympic Training Center, we used to shoot under artificial lights quite often- gets dark around 16:00 in the wintertime in San Diego. So I knew just what to expect.

But then, so would a lot of people who shoot full FITA rounds and find themselves chasing their windage at 30 M when the sun is low...

Shooting at night add's more specticle! Just take motor racing as the other sport I can think of that nw races at night. The Moto GP (bike) Boys who rode at night in Dubai at the oppening round of the season. Great race and looked fantastic. I think It was a great call by FITA to host the finals at night. Another aspect of the venue to challenge the shooters. And if anyone who moans about the conditions they are shooting in would never deserve to win a medal.

Fingers crossed we will have more night finals at future venues.

Great coverage and it certainly wets the appetite for the Olympics 2008.
As a spectator sport the H2H is a great format and should create some interest, bringing in new people to the sport. Always a positive thing.

Be a shock to the system for them when they find out how long the main competitions take to shoot (time wise) on the way to being good enough to compete at the top level. All day!

I love the format, just wish there were events (or my ability was high enough) where I could get further than the first, or occasionally second, round!!
