| I can assure you having groups that are good, but are off the middle will be very detrimental to anyone that actually wants to get a good score enjoying your shoot. That's why the rules allow them. I can't think of a better way to get me to not enjoy my day than instigation of unexpected local rules.

| I thoroughly enjoyed the day and scored a pb for a "non scope" event! |

I dont even shoot, but (taking the bait hook line and sinker) I see this as another case of carbon arrows, that is to say, another two tier rule system whereby some organisers will effectively ban perfectly legal equipment. If the rules allow it, then any shoot carried out under the auspicies of those rules must allow it also. Was this "rule" banning scopes announced before the start of the shoot or was it foisted onto the unsuspecting at the point where it was too late to withdraw? It is very difficult to be in a minority and stand up and say "I want to be able to use my scope" in such a situation.

| There is nothing I hate more than where organisers decide to throw in another rule at the last second. I like looking through my scope as I shoot as I use it to slow down my shoot-cycle.

| Did my yearly club longbow comp today. No scopes in use. It was mostly fun. |

| Tel - it was wrong quite simply. As far as I'm aware you've got to have practice at a WRS even, much like the fact that you have to allow all carbons (I don't want this to turn into an arrow thread, so lets say no more). As for not allowing scopes - I would find it very annoying. I shot on thursday without my scope(I'd forgotton to take the quick release off the camera and put it back on my scope after I made the video) and felt that my shot routine was disrupted (I usually look after I shoot then nock the next arrow) and I was shooting much more quickly. Like Bimble, since using a scope I have integrated it into my shot sequence and it acts as a control measure for me shooting too quickly. |
