| hi just to clarify a few things. yes im gutted that the limbs went and the itming was a bit pants - but.. myself and na were chatting about what to do next. should we just get some off the shelf limbs that coul dbe here in days and use those, or should we wait it out. i cant speak for nat but after mulling it over and after borders response to the problems my decision is made, im sticking with them. ive never shot limbs which have felt as fast or smooth and honestly feels that other limbs would just feel "normal" in comparison - my TXGs did and they were fantastic at the time. they did take a very long time to arrive and yes it was frustrating at times, but i can understand why it took so long. im confident that border will solve the issue and deliver me a great set of limbs, the sooner the better. 3 pbs in 3 shoots with the old set tells me they are onto something. (oh and im not being paid to say this, i'd say the same thing to anyone who asks)

| At the risk of getting flamed, I think this raises an interesting issue over how independently (or not) manufacturers are assessed. The likes of Hoyt get lambasted because a comparatively small proportion of the limbs they manufacture have problems (I'm thinking of the "delaminating G3s" that were the topic of much discussions several months ago, and the recent concerns over CX900s cracking). The conclusion is drawn by many that all Hoyt products are rubbish and that it's their own fault (i.e. G3s are all bad limbs). Conversely, Border has arguably a much bigger percentage failure rate in recent months, caused by their own manufaturing/QC processes, yet everyone still defends them to the last! I'm not a particular fan of Hoyt (all my stuff in W&W!), nor do I have anything against the folk at Border, who by all accounts are lovely people. I'm just trying to point out that sometimes love (e.g. for Border) is blind and, conversely, that just because a company is large (e.g. Hoyt), when things go wrong it's unreasoanble to argue that it's all their fault and one should thereafter avoid them like the plauge. chemistry |

| Chemistry, I see what you’re saying, but I think you’re being a little unfair. Yes, I am a happy user of Border limbs. However, I have said repeatedly for a long that: 1. You can shoot good scores with any limb. 2. Limb choice comes down to personal preference. 3. Limbs from ALL manufacturers break; what matters is whether they back up their products with good aftersales services or whether they defend their products with denials and marketing BS. (Okay, I confess I’ve made a few jokes in my time at the expense of other limb manufacturers, but it’s all meant in good fun )I think most users of Border limbs on this forum and elsewhere would agree with those comments. None of us are trying to cover anything up, and nor is Border. We just want to support a small British company that we believe produces extremely good products in a market dominated by much bigger players. Given the comparative R&D budgets I think Border can be justifiably very proud of how their limbs compare to those of other companies; and given the comparative marketing budgets I think it’s only fair that a handful of customers step up to help strike a balance. Just my 2p. ![]()

| Just a quick note to say I too have decided to stick with Border and the Hex5s. Like Al, having shot these limbs anything else would feel like going back. The stability and speed really is something special. And (chemistry) this is not a question of blind love by any means, but one of confidence. Having met the Sids I have total confidence that they can sort the current problems out, and ensure that the next pair of limbs doesn't go the way of the first! What's more, even if that did happen I know that they would do everything in their power to get me shooting again asap. These are the guys who, after my old FXs broke, sent me a set of TXBs to use, free of charge, until my Hex5s were ready. Frankly, anyone who bases their opinion of any company on its size isn't right in the head anyway. Border make excellent limbs, despite recent problems. So I stick with them. I love Hoyt risers. If there were problems reported with them, I'd still stick with Hoyt. Because I like their products, and I have confidence that if something does go wrong, both companies would sort the problem out. Nat
