Didn't a similar thing happen in the eighties - Michael doodlyflip* quit the roll for bigger things and then promptly disappeared without trace.

He and the shows are so rubbish, who cares?

Pesonally I think the whole Robin Hood & green tights image does archery no favours so get it off our screens and keep it off I say and help archery in updating it's image to a modern, competitive, cool, sport.

So I'm with Worthipa; despite this news I'll somehow manage to find the strength to carry on...

Find an actor to play the part who is a convincing "hero" and not someone who's going to run home sucking his thumb shouting for Mummy every time the bad guys turn up ???

The worst cast Robin Hood ever !

Michael Praed is the name you're after ... went on to do Dynasty I think (or was it the Colby's ?) but probably would have done himself more of a favour if he'd vanished without trace.... Now does lots of voiceovers on programmes that need narators.

But he did look great in the tights ... very nice legs etc !

Indeed it was Michael Praed who was the first "Robin of Sherwood", and he did succumb to the bright lights of Hollywood and join the cast of Dynasty. Ever actor makes a bad choice, and that was his imo.

He has appeared in several other TV series since, has done some films and a fair amount of stage work and, as you say, does a lot of voice-overs for things like the BBC Timewatch programmes.

Also imo he was/is a far better actor than the piece of wood (aka Jason Connery) that replaced him in the "Robin of Sherwood" series.
