| Darrell Pace posted a 1341 FITA with aluminium arrows in 1979 I believe. I think he was using wood/glass limbs and a Dacron string as well, but I can't be sure. I remember reading that Rick McKinney shot 1329 at the same event. Pace's record stood for ten years. Quite an achievement.

| Olympic Dream I am amazed that anybody remembered that I shop an Olympic Dream Bow- 1988 to 1990 which was basically an old Black Widow/PSE Riser with Border Glass/Wood fibreglass limbs sold by The Pro Shop (now Archery World). I used ACE 500's with 80 gn points 30" 43# on my fingers and a Fast Flight string- I think my arrow speed was approx 214 feet per second. The most forgiving bow I ever shot. I scored 1314 for a Fita at the European Champs in Luxumburg (placed 4th) I didn't beat that score until several years later with 1323- shot with Hoyt Carbon Foam Limbs still with ACE's I am not replying to brag about the score, only to show that good scores are possible with Wood Limbs. |

| Brian, you have old with new in your very own hands... Do you see a difference in your grouping with your new Hex5's and your older XP10's? The XP10's are 10 years old in terms of design. the hex5 are nearly 1 year old. im sure you have shot ali's and shot carbons, and do you see a difference? Subjective as it is, but whats your impressions... Oh and its only in the last 3-4 years has stability been a design attribute featured in limbs... |

| Sid IMHO the HEXV's are quite noticeably better than the XP10's. My groups shrunk immediately when I bolted them onto my riser. I have only compared woodies out of both sets of limbs so cannot comment on ally/carbon arrows out of either limb. Last edited by bkupris; 16-09-08 at 11:34 AM.. | Over the next 12 months I fully intend to purchase the top of the range bow, top of the range stabilisers and sight and every other trick-bit that is available on the market....just so that when I skew off into the white, I really will know it's down to me ![]() |
