Hi Jeremy,

before offering any suggestions, what are your interests..... Recurve - Compound - Longbow ???

Archery Magazines have a leaning to one or more of these, so you could subscribe to one that was no real use to you. Before subscribing to anything, get some back copies to check, most clubs will have them, or you could ask your coach?

Best wishes

Malcolm

I only shoot recurve at the moment and I expect that will be my main focus for the forseeable future.

Have a look at the latest 'Bow International'. Its available from most large WH Smith outlets in UK, but I don't know where you are located. It would be a good idea to update your personal information on your area of residence as local archers may be able to help you out with back copies ?

Glade was principally for Compound and Field Archers, but with recent changes may be widening their material. Again, most archery shops have copies of most magazines, so why pay full subscription for something before knowing what looks best for you.

One thing to consider is that The Glade is quarterly rather than monthly, so you may be able to subscribe to both The Glade and Bow International within your budget.

First of all, I have to declare an interest. I am the new editor of "The Glade".

We are quarterly.

John Dudley writes a regular column regarding compound bows. I ask him what topic to write on, and I am open to suggestions.

Roy Nash and Richard Preistman both write about various aspects of recurve.

Hugh Soar write about longbows.

Geoffrey Toye reviews equipment (usually, but not always crossbows).

Click on the banner ad that appears on the top of this site sometimes for more information, or feel free to PM me.

Geoff

here's a clever idea...

get a copy of each mag so you can actually have a copy in front you. with all the best intentions of the opinions here, it's best to check these mags over and decide for yourself.

you have to read them. it's your money. make an educated decision.
