Shoes.....?

Ok this may sound daft to some, but I just wondered what type of footware people use when shooting? I avoid trainers like the plague as I tend to wobble as the sole is rounded. I like big chunky boots of some kind with a flat bottom. Anyone else think this is such a big deal? It makes a difference to me anyway.

Anything with a flattish sole with a slightly built up heel does for me. I find my combat boots give excellent support, but a project for when I visit the US later this year is to find a good pair of shooting shoes in an outlet.

Only ever tried sturdy boots to date, but it's been cold and they're my winter shoes

Once the summer comes around I'll be wearing my normal summer footwear of Vans trainers.

hmmmm shooting shoes? Do I need some?

Inside: flat soled trainers (Addidas something or other - more of a skate shoe than jogging shoe).
Outside: Good weather, as above, bad weather, pair of big Berghaus walking boots.

A good pair of waterproof boots, mostly. But that's my normal everyday wear, as well.
Indoors, I'll switch to a pair of leather tennis shoes, if outdoor shoes are banned (as they are in some venues).

I think footware is important.
Good support is essential so you feel you are stable on the ground.
Also they are important as it is a legal requirement for shooting.( I think that's still the case)
Someone shot their own foot and as a precaution footware was added to the rule book, so I was told.

I am always shooting my self in the foot, not in an archery way though

I think it makes a difference, I wear the same shoes indoors every time-they have a flat sole and are perhaps slightly too big for me, the result is i can get a very stable platform which is comfortable for me at the same time.

Outdoors - same shoes if the weathers good enough, otherwise its a pair builders leather safety boots, they are fleece lined and waterproof and a little too large for me so i still have comfy warm feet. walking in them is not so good, hopefully they will wear in some day.

I always wear my trainers, they're quite flat and have a firm sole, but most importantly they comfortable to stand in for a long time
