I'm a lady you know!!

Hello do any other lady archers have the same problem as me? It seems my ahem...chest gets in the way and even with a chest guard the string sometimes gets caught, causing my arrows to shoot off in all directions.

Any help would be good?

one of our members had a similar problem, I think the solution she came up with was to open her stance a little...

I could ask when I see her next, but I'm not entirely sure how I would phrase the question...

mrs robbo has made a loop of elastic and wears it a bit like the old seventies/eighties tv police wear their gun slings round the chest. It has worked for her as like you, she just couldn't get on with the normal chest guards.

if you need more info on what she has done pm your email address and i'll put you in touch with her.

It's not only women that have this problem. Large fat guys that have big chests to start with have the same problem.

Got introduced to a very open stance (feet at 90 deg to each other) and that helps me pull over much better and changes the position where it sits on my chest.

Sponge.

Calor, I think it's time you spoke to Old Bloke at ArrowheadUK. He made me a lovely women's chest protector. I found it much better than the flat men's guards.

Otherwise, I suggest a sports bra to hold you, erm, in better, if you see what I mean. That might be a step in the right direction.

Or, of course, you could do an amazon warrior and remove the offending apendage. Though personally I felt that was a step too far, and adopted an open stance instead.

Now that would cause a stir - and imagine the effect on your [archery] form

I forgot to agree with clicki - a chest guard from old bloke is fab

I do recall a lady in the south west switching to compound because of a similar problem. With the shorter bow length the string doesn't cut quite so intrusively acroos the chest.
