Thumbs up Archery gets a government boost

Saaw on the news today that Olympic archery is getting a cash boost as promised by Gordon Brown to train teams for the olympics. Details from BBC News:

Archery
Funding '06-09: £2,371,000
% increase in '06/07 on existing award: 66%
Gold medals available: 4
Team GB Max Squad size: 6

This has got to be good for the sport

Hopefully that will include the sport as a whole, bringing on the juniors and good club shooters to National level.

I'm sure we all have faith in GNAS to manage it correctly...

And, of course, if they fail to get a bunch of gold medals the funding will get rapidly slashed.

Much like some sports suffered after the Olympics...
