A random musing on acronyms

It just occured to me that within a given sport there is a degree of uniformity in the number of letters in the acroynms of it's governing bodies:

Archery: (all 4)
GNAS
FITA
NFAS
EFAA

Boxing: (3)
IBF
WBC
WBF

Cricket: (3)
ECB
ICC

Scubadiving: (4)
BSAC
CMAS
PADI

No real point to this and I'm sure there are many sports that don't conform. Just something that wandered through my mind on a wet saturday afternoon
