World Record Tied
Well I am the proudest counch around today. A young archer I trained from 11 today tied the Cadet Boys Compound World 60m at a shoot between Australia and New Zealand. Sten Nigol shot a 353 to tie Baden Gallithenians (sp?) world record. I don't think FITA accepts ties unless it's on the same day, but that's an amazing score.

Great shooting,congrats to both of you. I too tied a world record last year so I know how you feel, great elation with a tinge of regret that it wasn't one better. My problem was that I knew what the record was and I went into the last six arrows knowing that I had to shoot tens with all of them, in the end I shot five tens and a nine, difficult to imagin the pressure I felt shooting those arrows. Did your lad know he was near a record whilst shooting?

no he had no idea, we knew it was the AAussie record, but he owns most of those so no pressure there. It wasn't till about 8pm that night that my coach asked me if I had checked. As soon as I found out I called Sten to tell him, made his evening.
