| I am right handed in every thing I do, but I'm left eye dominant. So a decision was made from day one for me to shoot a left hand bow. I simply don't notice the handed ness of my bow and would find it odd to shoot a right hand one. In fact it has given me a more balanced handedness in other ways too. My advice, is to switch to a left hand bow, anything else is a compromise. Look at it as a long term plan, short term inconvenience for a long term gain. |

| I agree with rgsphoto. I am right handed but have always shot left handed because I am very left eye dominant. It didn't take long to convert and I cannot now even pick up a bow right handed. Invest in the "long game" you know it makes sense! ![]()

| I am right handed but left eye dominant, I shoot right handed and close my left eye! I did attempt spearing fish on the odd occassion where I shut the wrong eye!! After RGS & Legolaand's comments, my post will not help!! ![]()

| All the suggestions work. Some will work better than others for you because of the way you are, if you see what I mean. The biggest question to answer is will you shoot left or right handed? Left handed will feel odd. How long you stick at it will decide whether or not you make the progress you want. If you choose to stay right handed, the choices have already been mentioned. Which one of those you select, I think, will be found out by trying each one and giving them all a fair amount of time. The extended sight pin, allows you to use your dominant eye, which may be a consideration, that's personal I feel. If you use your dominant eye, the string lines up with your right eye still. If you shoot with that eye closed there will be little or no string picture. The string picture is one way of left/right referencing.Keeping both eyes open gives you a string picture. |

| I simply can't see the point in a compromise. Archery can be a very frustrting game as it is. There is no point in makeing life hard for youy self. I'm sure there are endless list of people shooting with the wrong nanded bow, but it's not needed. You will be able to shoot left handed with ease. Patience amd a little time is all that is needed. |

| I am left eye dominant, and shoot right handed. I tried left handed, but felt much more comfortable the other way round. I shoot with both eyes open, sometimes just blinking the left eye shut momentarily to check string alignment. As I tend to be somewhat ambidextrous (throw, bowl l.h. write, bat r.h.) then maybe I am not so heavily left eye dominant as you. I have found that I can actually switch to shooting left handed with no major problem (as we discovered last Monday at our Fun Shoot!). I would advise trying left handed first - if you decide it really doesn't feel comfortable, then use a translucent eye patch on the left eye. Kev |
