Upgrading ....

Wasn't sure wether or not this could be a poll - but here is my question.

As a beginner I have a Kap surprise which serves me well and has been cheap. I'm pretty sure I am hooked so I will no doubt invest further in the future.

Ignoring poundage - when would I normally expect to upgrade to a new riser and limbs? (and sight seeing as mine fell to bits yesterday)

Would it be when I have decided that my kit is the limiting factor? How will I know? Would other people be the ones to tell me?

Just curious.

I have been shooting just under a year. I started with an Agulla which was upgraded to a Kudos within weeks - this was purely for the colour!! I then got the opportunity of a purple matrix so bought that - again, this was not needed - just wanted!!

As for sights, I had 2 second hand sights that collapsed during competitions - this forced me to throw a hissy fit and then buy the best of what I could afford on the assumption that I will not need to replace anything for a long time!!!

Have fun!!

I moved on from my beginners kit when i was sure archery was for me.

I have seen a lot of beginners get hooked , go and buy top equipment , shoot for a few months then give up.

If your sure archery is for you then it may be a case of working out a budget for your upgrade

Hmm. Not sure my colour fetishes are worthy of me investing in new kit. Not so sure I have a favourite colour to be honest.

However if you are at Aardvark tomorrow and you can name a purple drink then I will buy you as many as you like for lunch.

Woe is me - I fear I have bollocksed up.

The reason I ask is more to do with when exactly is kit a limiting factor?
For example if I decided my kit was my limiting factor yet my coach managed to shoot 10 times better than me with the same setup then why upgrade?

I may be getting a little obtuse but rather than make it more of a gadget thing I was wondering if there is some kind of trigger point that most coaches recommend.

That make sense?

Purple Rain Champagne Cocktail!!

This cocktail is perfect for the Champagne lover who enjoys a little extra excitement. Whether or not your guests appreciate the slight deviation from the most decadent drink around, you'll be sure to get plenty of oohs and aahs when the drinks get poured. Show off your spontaneity, dance to Prince and watch it bubble.
Ingredients: Champagne blue food coloring red food coloring Steps: 1. Decide how many people you'll ask to join in the excitement of your cocktail hour. 2. Purchase enough Champagne for your guests, along with blue and red food coloring. It's important to buy Champagne that tastes acceptable to you, since you won't be changing its flavor. 3. Open the bottle of Champagne (see Related eHows) and begin to fantasize about taking your first sip. 4. Listen to your favorite Prince song as you squeeze three blue drops and four red drops of food coloring into the open Champagne bottle. 5. Turn the bottle from side to side gently to let the food coloring disperse throughout. The liquid will slowly turn purple. 6. Pour the Champagne into glass or plastic Champagne flutes. Pass them around to guests, drink as you would any cocktail and/or use it as a fun opportunity for toasting.
