RE: Newbie: What injuries have you sustained.....

This didn't happen to me, but to a friend of mine shooting compound in his first competition last year. His release aid broke as he drew. It was about when he was pulling the full weight (dark side - I don't understand such things). Result - fist in nose and blood everywhere. All was not lost as he went on to win the competition

RE: Newbie: What injuries have you sustained.....

I was pulling a stuck arrow from a boss on my own, it wouldn't budge, then i pulled extra hard, a sharp pain and my arm went limp, i nearly tore one of my back muscles in two, it took months before i could draw a boow with no pain.

RE: Newbie: What injuries have you sustained.....

Tennis elbow from being overbowed, hurt for about 18 months
Cuts through the knuckle on my bow hand from feather fletchings [changed nock position]
Slap around the face when a Longbow at full draw literally exploded
Various cuts from knives, digging arrows out of trees [use a marlin spike now, brilliant]
My pride, whenever I miss a blindingly easy target

Just did this last Thursday....

...and I'm still trying to fathom out what I did to manage that!!! Plus I broke an arrow that shot out of the bow at a 45 degree angle to my left!!!

Any news on what caused it yet, Radsbow ??

RE: Newbie: What injuries have you sustained.....

No not really - A senior member at the club seems to think it may have been a weakened / damaged arrow, but I'm not so sure.

The arrow left the bow at a 45 degree angle towards the tennis courts (my left as you face the target)#- and that's where I think the arrow got snapped - on a fence pole.

I shot my first York round today, with no problems, but have to say I'm still concerned by not knowing exactly what may have happened!

All fun and games

Yeah, but even so, thats a pretty dramatic bruise !!!!

It looks more consistent with being hit by a bus than from a freak accident with an arrow, LOL !!!
