Just a quickie on costs

Can some one please tell me is there a norm on price when selling second hand..my other hobby is 50% of new cost, is this sport about the same. Also i will most likely buy new but if i find some top gear at a fair second hand price i might be tempted, is there anything apart from normal damage i should be aware off.?????? and is there any gear that is a complete no no. we have some complete no nos in other hobby. LOL

I would say half price for 2nd hand is acceptable - unless it is practically new. Personally, I would never buy arrows 2nd hand - but that's just me!!

Hi

I think the quality of the kit is an important variable here, and recently released bits of kit seem to attract a premium too. Ebay prices can be 70% or more of the new cost.

A lot of sellers on ebay will quote Quicks' retail price for an item, as this is often higher than other retailers in the UK. I noticed a Beiter button recently that went for £48 on ebay: Quicks price is over £60, but Bowsports list them at £50.

I've seen stuff go on ebay for occasionally more than what you can buy them new, so it's caveat emptor. 2nd Hand price depends on lots of variables - condition, age, damage, etc.

For second hand its the norm to price it at 50-60% of new, unless you think you can get a bit more.
