GNAS card chaos

Still have not receive my GNAS card (after nearly three years...) due to various ineptitude in the Oxfordshire system. Though I do get Archery UK (with membership no. by my address). So I'm going to need some sort of proof of my membership for the north cheshire bowmen tournament next week - any suggestions? The entry form says something about 'details of the club treasurers receipt' as a stand-in...

Ask whoever's in charge, they should have a handful of temporary cards where they just write your name on it.

Otherwise Oxford Uni Archers should have an affiliation form that works in place of a card - well, it has for me on several occasions anyway!

And I was beginning to wonder where mine was, a mere 3 months after I signed up. I've been diligently checking the box at the club to see if my card's arrived. Not getting a good impression of GNAS overall!

when we registered our club it took ages for them to come through. phone gnas and "have a word" it usually gets sorted quicker then.

The system is:
Club takes on new member, issues temporary card, valid for six months
Club sends details to County
County sends details to Region
Region sends details to GNAS Office
GNAS Office sends "full" card (actually a sticker) to club
Club hands new sticker to member

So:-
a) If you do not have a valid card, has your club given you one?
b) If you have been waiting more than six months for a permanent card (and your temporary one is out of date):-
b1) Has your club actually sent their bits off
b2) Ditto County
b3) Ditto Region
b4) Has your club actually got the cards but not passed them on (That reminds me....)

I may be incredibly lucky, but our membership cards tend to come back within a fortnight. We do have a very good and efficient County Treasurer and Regional Secretary.

IMHO, the GNAS Office, while far from perfect, does get a lot of stick for the membership system when it is, more often than not, Clubs, Counties and Regions at fault. By all means track the fault to its source, and then take it up at the right level.

You know, as far as I recall, I've never been asked for my GNAS card... Not in 20 years. I've needed the number for entry forms, but never the card itself.

I take it that you've spoken to the club secretary about this? If you have a number, then they should be receiving a sticker for you every year, even if you didn't get a card originally...

Allegedly I have a sticker floating around somewhere amongst the club paperwork. I'm tempted to mount a raid and find it myself. As far as the cards are concerned there was a hold up with the supply last year, and our pants (and now ex) secretary claims to have heard nothing since . It'd be a hell of a lot easier if GNAS just sent the card direct to its holder, thats for sure.
