I suspect bowhunters are queuing up to buy them, but bowhunters would. Sad world

It's not so much the bow, or how much the manufacturer milks the exposure (they'd be foolish not to) but what inexperienced people decide to do with a bow they bought because it looked cool on tv.

After all, the media love a tragedy and it won't take much negative exposure to affect the whole archery community.

It's not new, though. Bear cashed in on Deliverance, in which Burt Reynolds used a Bear compound to bump off a redneck. And Hoyt cashed in on Rambo, even issuing a bow called the Rambow. Can't help wondering what sort of people bought them, though.

OK already. So a programme (or should that be "program") on the box gives the impression to a lot of armchair experts - not the AIUK members - that it's easy to kill people with a compound bow. Well I suppose it might be in the wrong hands! However, let's not forget all the negative "publicity" that the medical profession have in the name of "drama" on the box. Completely laughable and most of it total drivel, although Patricia Hewitt seems to think that's what she's got in the NHS! Then there are all the "police dramas", and the MI5/CIA/SIS programmes. Boy, do I feel paranoid about being tailed or the bugs in my car etc! Do we really believe public are generally gullible and believe what they are fed? Well, yeeees, possibly. Funny that "The Weatherman" has not had much impact over here. We probably didn't mind the "LOTR effect" of a few years ago. So what's the fuss? Provided the archery fraternity are careful with providing good teaching and appropriate safety warnings should we really be worried?

i dont watch the telly much its way to boring. but i can see some point's
if some one was Injured and the press got hold of it could be turned into another Dunblane
Then in a few months the government would crumble under the presser and ban archery.
And things from this program would be quoted as if it was evidence in a court .
